Arms of the Town of Wickwar
The town of Wickwar, in the parish of Wickwar, between the cities of Gloucester and Bath is where the Wickwares, Wickwires and many other variations receive their name.
It is situated on the best road from bath to Gloucester. The surrounding scenery is highly picturesque. In the distance lie the celebrated Cotswold Hills. Wickwar and the villages that surround it are rich in antiquarian treasures and records, many of which have been brought to light by the county historians.
